Giving used vehicles to the unhoused to pursue employment

This program involves the purchase of used vehicles for motivated clients to enable them with the opportunitiy to seek out employment and access jobs.

Premise: The Lack of Rapid Transit Availability On Island. It is difficult to maneuver around the West side without a vehicle.  Adequate rapid transit for commuters is not a reality.  Coupled with the steep terrain and unpaved roads on the island, it is very difficult for the average person to travel by bike or on foot to places of new or continuing employment, or to where lower income affordable housing exists.   As a solution to these obstacles, we foresaw our 808HTF Program to include:

The Purchase of Pre-owned Vehicles For Motivated Clients - There already exists a market of used vehicles here with the constant flow of people moving off-island island.  After acquiring employment, the client has an easier time with accessing housing because landlords want potential tenants who are employed and who can prove through their paystubs that they can pay rent on a continuing basis. This is economic restoration!

                          2019 - 2020:  8 vehicles

                          2021 -  2022: 10 vehicles 

                          2022 - 2023:  6 vehicles 

                          2024: 1 vehicle​
